| Memory Bears A large part of my business is devoted to creating special memory bears using fur coats. These bears take much more time to create than a synthetic or mohair bear, but the time spent is worth it as quality workmanship should never be compromised. I take my time and double line all of the bears prior to sewing them to increase the strength of a coat. This reinforcement is necessary as when I put the joints in the bear the discs will be against the lining and not directly in contact with the pelt of the coat itself. In terms of size, I offer three main sizes, a nine inch bear which is completely wobble jointed with cotterpins, a 14 inch and lastly a 19 inch. Larger bears are available upon request. 9 inch $125.00 Cdn. 14-15 inch $140.00 Cdn. 19 inch $150.00 Cdn. One of the most frequent questions I get is, how many bears can I get from my fur coat? More often than not, you can get more than one from a jacket sized coat. I also have made bears from stoles and mink wraps. Of course every coat will vary in terms of the condition of the pelts and there are usually places where the fur is worn on the outside so certain areas may have to be avoided. My general response to customers is for you to let me know how many bears you need. For example, someone may have three siblings in the family, so once I see the coat I will be able to determine the size of the bears to meet the number needs. The most reliable method of shipping coats to me is through Purolator as this company requires a signature to verify the drop off and the parcels can be tracked easily.
